Summer Reading List

Summer Reading List

So I’ve brought home several books that I’ve told myself that I’m going to read. Some are on my priority list, some not really.

Bible – Keep reading through Psalms and Romans

My Utmost for His Highest – love this thing, I would totally recommend everyone to get one of these and start reading it. I can and probably should write a post about this devotional book sometime later.

Wild at Heart by John Eldridge. I’m reading this one with the broskis. There’s 12 chapters and about 12 weeks to our summer so hopefully we’ll be good about reading this together. People have said some good things about it. I think it’s about being real men in Christ. I’m excited.

Meal with Jesus by Tim Chester – I need to finish it. I’m almost done. I think I’ve been really slow with it because I feel like I got the main idea the author wants to get through and everything else is kind of just fluff. I still want to finish it for the sake of finishing it lol.

Spiritual Leadership by Oswald Sanders – This is a solid book. This is basically the written version of a series of lectures on spiritual leadership Sanders gave to missionaries of OMF, which is the Overseas Missionary Fellowship organization started back in the 1850s by Hudson Taylor. I’ve read a couple of chapters of it and want to finish it this summer.

Community by Brad House. I’m really psyched about community groups and how it could look like in the future. I’ve loved House’s articles on The Resurgence about community and community groups and would love to see what he talks about in depth. I honestly would love to see life giving community come from Cru next year and in the years to come.

So yea, that’s kind of my list right now. I’ve got morebooks with me but these are the ones I’ve been staring at for a while.

What are you reading this summer?
