Year In Cornell Cru

Year In Cornell Cru

First off, the video above was made by the one and only Daphne “DaphTaph” Tan. Mad props. It has no story or anything, but it’s just random clips from the year of ppl in Cru and at Cru stuff. If you haven’t really read any of my stuff before or don’t know me, Cru is short for Cornell’s chapter of Campus Crusade for Christ. (pictures from me and K. Nguyen)

Dude, the year seriously went by so quickly. Looking back on it now, I honestly don’t think that I made the most of my time. There were so many things to do, so many ppl to catch up with, but then again, we weren’t made to do everything. I don’t think it would have been humanly possible too. Even if I didn’t sleep, I wouldn’t have been able to do it, because other people sleep! haha.

Freshmen. There have been many people I’ve interacted with this past year in Cru. There have been the freshmen class, which we basically tackled the moment they all got to campus. I’m really glad that we did as well. They’ve honestly been a blessing in my life and I’ve learned so much from them, both about myself and how God’s using me in the bigger picture of discipleship as well. I’m seriously psyched about how God’s going to be using all the freshmen in Cru in the years to come. They inspire me to grow first in my relationship with God and to be a better leader. I’ve led a small group of dudes this past year with Mr. “Biebs” who has been a blessing to me as well. It’s been a great year with these guys growing and spending time in the word and doing different things together. I hope to grow and continue to spend time with these ppl in the future.

Sophmores. This has definitely been a great class of people. I’ve gotten to know a bunch of ppl in this class a lot better this past year and I’m so glad I did. I honestly didn’t really interact with them much last year when I was a sophmore. I was kind of like whatever and minding my own business, but God has been working some wonders in these people. I’ve gotten to know my co-small group leader a lot better this year and I’m so greatful for that alone. I really appreciate the smaller, higher quality relationships in my life and my friendship with Biebs has definitely been that. It’s been a blessing to be on mission with him to reach the campus with the gospel. I’ve also gotten to know some other guys better as well, like Mr. Kim and Mr. Seo (trying to be good about keeping anonymity of friends haha) who I got the chance to help them start up a small group earlier in the year. They’ve really just been a passionate group of people who give life to Cru and I’m excited to have another year with them as well.

Juniors. We da best, enough said. Seriously, wish I spent mucho mucho time with you all. It’s been a bomb serving with you all. I’m so psyched about next year. I can’t believe we’re seniors now. We’re going to make a difference in the lives of students on this campus and have a great time doing it. I hope that this coming year we’ll get to know each other better, we’ll be able to grow through the good and the bad times, to pray together, to serve together, to yea, be awesome. Most importantly, to love Jesus more than we ever had in our last year of college. My brothers, I love you and our time together. Four Brethren for life.

Seniors. Man, I was such a ostrich or something, or a  groundhog. I’ve been hiding all year haven’t I. I’ve seen you guys around and never made the intentional plan to just hang out and get to know you all better. Nonetheless, I’m glad to have known you and it’s been a blast to have known you through Cru and to serve together on this campus. Many of you have been an inspiration to me and have been great brothers and sisters to me throughout my time here and have definitely shared great amounts of wisdom on me. I hope to rock out senior yr as well as you guys have. See you in the real world! haha…

More sentimental thoughts to come when it pops up I guess.
