Keep Calm and Trust God

Keep Calm and Trust God

Sometimes you find the most amazing things on Tumblr. Haha. I don’t really update my tumblr as much since this wordpress is my main blog but yes, this one stuck out to me.

On tuesday at Cru’s weekly leadership meetings we have a time of sharing. Some weeks are off the chain and some weeks, are less so. But either way, I love going and interacting with the other people there. I helped to facilitate the meeting on tuesday and at the end I encouraged people to be thinking about how God was working in their lives this week so they can come back and share next week.

So I wanted to share with you all how God’s been working in my life just yesterday!

I lead a Men’s community group with a sophmore friend of mine. He’s a sweet dude who love Jesus and is growing day by day. He’s an encouragement to me in the way he desires to do more for God’s kingdom. This is still technically the beginning of the semester and people are still figuring out their schedules and thus, people have been on and off for CG.

I always tell them to be there by 6, they never really listen but that’s okay. I know how they think, I’m the same way. I get there with Nick and we just sit around waiting for them. Maybe three of them show up and since this is the second week we start wondering who will be here and who’s going to be a core part of the group and can be expected to be there each week. It’s relatively small, 5 people, compared to the 16 or so I had last semester. A couple of my guys switched over to the other North Men’s CG because of time issues.

So we go up and grab a small round table cuz that’s the amount of guys that showed up. And as we eat, more and more guys show up til we have double the amount we started with. Then I also remembered that there was supposed to be a new dude showing up as well and was on the lookout for him, and at the end of the dinner he found us and said that he couldn’t find us earlier but finished dinner and will find us when we get going. So the craziness, God just keeps on supplying the people! We had around 13 people show up and we were still missing a person or two who usually comes out!

At first I was worried about whether or not people would be able to come out or if they would even remember or not, but God is faithful as long as we are faithful to Him! There’s no need to be anxious, all I need to do is Keep Calm and Trust God!

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for his name’s sake.
(Psalm 23:1-3 ESV)

Trusting in my shepherd,

Will Poon
