[Church and Discipleship] One Size Fits All (10/13)

By Louie Rudin

The perceived problem here of course is that each reader is different and lives in a much different setting than the one in my fantasy. But why wouldn’t this idea work in a rural or urban setting? Why wouldn’t this work on a college campus or military base? Even if we’re homeless, we live in proximity to other homeless people. And if God is truly sovereign as we all claim him to be then we should trust him that he has placed us in the proximity of other people whom he is calling. And if we simply take the time to meet with him everyday and listen for his instructions, we will discover who these people are and how we can serve them. Love God. Seek him everyday and surrender your will to him and allow his Spirit to fill you and transform you from the inside out. Love People. Pray for them everyday that God would be calling them and that they would hear him call their name. Be alert for any way that you can serve and bless them. God will equip you with everything you’ll need. Make Disciples. Introduce them to Jesus. Give them a bible and maybe another helpful book like Blue Like Jazz. Read through one of the Gospels with them. Encourage them to meet up with God everyday so that they can hear his voice as well.
