My God is Wonderfully Complex

My God is Wonderfully Complex

I spend a good amount of my free time on youtube doing one of two things, finding new music or dance videos. Sometimes, I find some gems and I thought it would be a good idea to share them with you.

I’ve recently been reading through Packer’s “Knowing God” which reads like a beautiful devotional of small snippets inviting us into a deeper glimpse of our wonderfully complex God. He is more wonderful than we can ever imagine, more powerful than we can ever compare with, and yet so complex He is beautifully simple. There is so much about God and to Him that would take each of us decades and possibly our whole lives to get to know Him intimately, which is why we are given the opportunity to do it for eternity. Yet to the complexities of God, He is ever simple. A triune God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, that is in and of Himself Love and created a universe to fill with His Love and Glory.

Sometimes we just need to sit back and take some time to meditate on God’s Greatness!

Suggestions on how we can meditate on God’s Greatness:

1. Read the Word and Meditate on it

bible

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1, ESV) If the Word, Jesus, has been here since the beginning and lives and speaks through the Word, the Scriptures, then we should start spending some more time with it!

2. Go out in Nature and Praise Him!

nature

Sometimes when we spend so much time inside and within man made walls, we forget how small and feeble we are. We need to go out into the great outdoors and reclaim the feeling of what it would feel like to be in God’s grasp and control. Go hiking, camping, kayaking!Remember that you can die out there and that our life was given to us by our wonderful creator!

3. Meditate on your own life and Praise Him for what He’s done so far!

life

Another thing we do often is forget! And we forget so much that we forget that we forget stuff! I bet you already forgot what I wrote earlier! Take some time to think through your own life if you’re a believer. Think about your life before Jesus. Think about the life that God saved you from, from the person you were, from the things you did, from the person you were going to be, and from the things you were going to do. I do this every so often when I get all deep and stuff, and I’m placed in this state of awe of how blessed I am by the grace that God has given to me. I may not have been some crazy nut job who was hopped up on drugs and killing people, but I’m pretty sure I wasn’t on a good route either and God took me off that and set me straight. It’s a beautiful reminder and one I need consistently to keep my eyes on what’s important, Jesus!
