Mars Hill: God’s Work, Our Witness

I hope that you’ve all been doing well, and getting fat! I believe I’ve gained 5, correct that, 9 (just checked) pounds since I’ve gotten back. Yay! Grandparents Win! Maybe I’ll get up to 160 or something like that by the time the break is over.

Yesterday I went to Chinatown with my grandparents to see a Chinese accupressure doctor. I learned that Chinese New Years is coming up haha

So I learned about Mars Hill when I came to Cornell to visit as a senior in high school for Cornell Days. I stayed with a friend that I went to high school with who I knew through the Christian fellowship we were both in back then. I stayed in his apartment and his friends, who were also Christians, were on the Mars Hill website and listening to sermons, which I thought was very cool. So from there on started my relationship with Mars Hill. They’re currently doing a 5 week series titled God’s Work, Our Witness, which includes a documentary and some sermons that they believe is essential for Christians. This is a link to the first video, which is a documentary of how God’s used the Mars Hill church back when it first started all the way up to today. It’s amazing to see the people and places that God’s used. It really shows that God is a God of surprises and He likes things done His way, not ours. If we stay faithful enough to Him, we’ll see that He is truly faithful to us throughout everything and has a beautiful plan for us that brings Him ultimate glory and us true satisfaction found in Him.
